William Sanford La Sor was born 25 Oct 1911 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.〔Ancetry.com〕 Ordained in the United Presbyterian Church, he served churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before World War Two. La Sor served as a Navy chaplain from 1943-1946〔Pennsylvania, Veteran Compensation Application Files, WWII, 1950-1966〕 in the Pacific Theater. In 1949 he joined Fuller Theology Seminary as an associate professor becoming professor of Old Testament and in 1980 retiring with emeritus status. He held six degrees, ranging from chemistry to Oriental languages and literature and including a doctorate in theology from the University of Southern California.〔Los Angeles Times, January 17, 1991〕 La Sor died on January 11, 1991〔California, Death Index, 1940-1997〕〔U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014〕 at his home in Altadena, California.
